Ravello has an impressive cathedral, the venerable Duomo, dedicated to San Pantaleone whose blood is a treasured relic. The façade has three ancient marble portal: the central one is closed by the famous bronze door created in 1179 by Barisano da Trani with 54 rectangular panels decorate the door with figures sculpted in relief; one of them holds the name of the donor, the Ravellian nobleman Sergio Muscettola, and of his family.

The interior, with nave, two aisles and three apses, has the peculiarity of the floor being sharply inclined towards the square, for the purpose of obtaining a deeper perspective effect.  On the left of the high altar there is the chapel of S. Pantaleone which holds the glass, gold and silver ampulla containing the saint's solidified blood that miraculously liquefies each year.
